Coach Tamara Grant
I have over 20 years of coaching competitive cheerleading with many reputable cheerleading gyms. I cheered at East Carolina University's Co-ed cheerleading team for 2 years and was captain of ECU's All-girl team in my 3rd year. After graduating with a Bachelor's of Science in Health and Fitness and coaching at several gyms, I pursued my certification in K-6 education and have been teaching elementary school since 2009.
It's my belief that a sport such as cheerleading, which incorporates dance, acrobatics, and stunt techniques, is a great sport to help develop effective social skills, trust, character, and quality communication skills. I believe that when athletes set goals and work hard to attain them, they can carry those values into their peer relationships and adult life.
Assistant Coach Nikol Cook
I am a graduate of THE Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN where I received my Masters in Professional School Counseling. I have been cheering since I was a child. I am a cheer coach and educator for Cheer Hive of Nashville, TN.
I like a holistic and vision style coaching approach. It is my belief that children are a sum of all their parts, and everything is connected. This allows me to encourage growth in not only sports, but also in all aspects of their lives. Vision allows the student athletes to feel empowered with clear direction. I am able to have a partnership that allows me to greatly motivate them as more than just athletes.
I am so excited about this upcoming cheer season at East End Prep. Let's go Eagles!
